I’m honestly surprised this one is even under consideration. Right off the bat, it’s sexy as hell, which means it doesn’t belong in a downtown Bible Belt micropolis. C’mon, folks.
And as you look closer, it becomes genuinely “problematic”. The sculpture is composed of many individual, naked, women’s legs, with pointed toes, mounted onto a final pair so that it is visually clear that booty is poppin’. This piece of art manages to check every single box for objectifying women and their sexuality. If that’s the artist’s intent, swell! But it’s not a message we need to be sending the world.
I rather like the femininity of this one and the sense of moving forward.
